On the occasion of the 13th death anniversary of Martyr of Peace Bashir Ahmed Bilour, Awami National Party’s Provincial President Mian Iftikhar Hussain addressed a large public gathering at Namak Mandi Chowk, Peshawar. In his speech, Mian Iftikhar Hussain stated that Bashir Ahmed Bilour bravely confronted terrorism during the most difficult times. He recalled that police repeatedly advised ANP leaders to avoid public gatherings due to security threats, but the party made it clear that those who were martyred were not just ANP’s children, but the children of the entire nation. He criticized the current rulers, saying that after terrorist attacks, government leaders are nowhere to be seen, and that flawed policies have once again strengthened terrorism. He accused General Faiz and his loyalists of resettling nearly 40,000 militants, the consequences of which the nation is suffering today, calling it a direct result of PTI’s policies. He emphasized that the Awami National Party eliminated terrorism through immense sacrifices and bloodshed, but today the government itself admits that from Kohat to Dera Ismail Khan, government officials are advised not to travel at night. He questioned that if state representatives withdraw from the field, only terrorists will remain, leaving the nation abandoned. Mian Iftikhar Hussain pointed out that peace prevails across Attock and in Sindh, questioning why law and order continue to deteriorate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stressed that the provincial government must take full responsibility for maintaining peace and security. He further stated that ANP had previously taken ownership of both dialogue and military operations, and both approaches proved successful. Concluding his speech, he said that the Pashtun people are peaceful, seeking an end to terrorism, lasting peace, and friendly relations with neighboring countries. He demanded that action against banned militant organizations should begin from Punjab.
