  1. Asfandyar Wali Khan is right becase you may know that the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton quoted Bacha Khan (the Prophet of Peace, non-violent Muslim soldier of Islam and A Man to Match his Mountains) on September 15, 2009 in an Iftar dinner hosted by her “ that we need to be inspired by our leaders to fight poverty, injustice and hate with, “the weapon of the Prophet—patience and righteousness.” Well, that, to me, sums up much of what we celebrate tonight as we break fast.” 1

The west resisted the philosophy of non-violence and struggle for freedom of Bacha Khan during the cold war. Thankfully this mindset is slowly changing because violence can no more be confined to specific countries and regions. Bacha Khan’s philosophy of non-violence provides HOPE and struggle towards PEACE. As President Obama had also promised to provide HOPE and bring peace during his election campaign, therefore the US government needs to recognize the services of the prophet of peace and let give the people of Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Muslims a hope of life and peace. The western think-tanks, peace movements and academia need to analyse the life and struggle of Bacha Khan and bring authentic answers to the suffering of Afghans and humanity. Will they stand up to the occasion?
